Pasadena, CA, USA
A pair of Red-Whiskered Bulbuls have been resident in our Pasadena yard for a few years. When our oleander hedge ws pruned last year–against our wishes!–they lost their nesting site, and we didn’t see them for the rest of the year, and feared they had disappeared. Imagine my delight when, while doing my 15-minute Bird Count yesterday, this one appeared again! I know that they are an introduced species and only live here in Southern California, but I think they are lovely birds and they have a wonderful bell-like song. This one is sitting on another introduced species, an Australian calistemon.
