Description

Legend has it, that during the 1960’s, some Monk Parakeets that were headed for the pet trade, escaped at JFK airport. Since then, these resilient and resourceful birds have grown in number and established several colonies in Brooklyn, Queens, and even Nassau County where this affectionate pair was photographed. Here they live year-round, communally in the wild now.
