Nazzano, Rome, Lazio, Italy
In this same reed bed lined pond there was a pair of Eurasian Teal and a few Common Moorhen. As was shown on the news, Rome and much of Italy experienced massive flooding in the past two weeks. Yet two days before this picture was taken this pond was mud only. Why? It is because the whole reserve was created by a dam on Tiber River. Two days ago they opened the dam to release the flood water and whole place emptied. The wagtail must wonder what happened to all the mud!
