When we saw Robins in the past – one thought they were a sign that spring had sprung but now we know they become fruit eaters and can be found in large flocks in Maine all winter as this picture shows – a Robin perched on the iced up limbs on my crab apple tree.

Obviously, as you can see by the ice on the tree limbs, spring has not arrived in Maine but the Robins are around !!!!
